Sizing Up Your Bike
Pooch My Ride is compatible with most bikes and e-bikes that have a crossbar. The Mounting Frame Bracket supplied with our seat can be installed on crossbars that are up to 5.5cm wide.
For bikes with wider crossbars, such as certain e-bikes, we offer the Big Crossbar Bracket, sold separately, which easily attaches to our Mounting Frame and accommodates crossbars up to 10.5cm wide.
Seat & Bike
Dimensions
If your bike doesn’t have a crossbar, our adjustable mounting frame can be adapted to fit your bike’s handlebar stem, provided that part of the stem is fixed and doesn’t rotate with the steering. Details on installing Pooch My Ride can be found here.
Seat Dimensions
Use these dimensions to estimate the space the Dog Seat seat will occupy on your bike.
Distance Required on Your Bike
Your bike requires a minimum distance of 36 cm between the front of the saddle and the handlebar post.
Seat Post
Ensure that the diameter of your saddle post is greater than 3.2cm and that there is at least 3cm of exposed post available to attach the mounting bracket. If your saddle post is less than 3.2cm, you can always fatten it up with multiple wraps of gaffer tape.
Must NOT be mounted onto carbon fibre or titanium seat posts.
Crossbar Width
The standard mounting bracket will fit crossbars up to 5.5cm wide. If your crossbar is wider than this, you’ll need to buy our Big Crossbar Bracket, which accommodates crossbars up to 10.5cm wide.
Wide Crossbars
If your crossbar is wider than 5.5cm, or extra chunky you’ll need to buy our Big Crossbar Bracket, which accommodates crossbars between 7.5cm and 10.5cm wide.

Pooch My Ride is designed to fit most bike styles. One part of the mounting frame connects to the bike’s seat post, while the other secures to the crossbar or top tube. Bikes with wider crossbars or top bars may need our Big Crossbar Bracket.

Bikes not Compatible
with Pooch My Ride
Some bike styles are not compatible with Pooch My Ride. Examples of these styles are shown below. These bikes feature low crossbars and long handlebar posts, which will come into contact with the Pawrest on Pooch My Ride. The BMX style bike has a high handlebar, which would also come into contact with the Pawrest and obstruct steering the bike.
